Producer Abigail Addison and Animated Documentary Maker Samantha Moore discussion

Sam Moore is a UK based, international award winning animation director who loves the joyfulness and eclectic nature of animation, with an interest in storytelling. Sam has made work on diverse subjects, from competitive sweet-pea growing, to cutting edge microbiology, and her own experience of having twins. Her most recent film Bloomers (2019) has won several international awards including ‘Best British Film’ at the London International Animation Festival It was BAFTA long listed, and nominated for a British Animation Award for Best Short. It was added to the BFI national film archive in 2020. Sam’s other international award winning short animated films include; Success with Sweet Peas (2003), doubled up (2004), The Beloved Ones (2007), An Eyeful of Sound (2010), Shadow Stories (2013), and Loop (2016). http://www.samanthamoore.co.uk/ Abigail is a Producer, and is a Director of Animate Projects that works at the intersection of animation, film and art. She has produced many innovative projects, including 15 shorts for Channel 4’s Random Acts, and Silent Signal, a large-scale touring art & science project about our biology that received Wellcome Trust support, and two award-winning animation & music
collaborations for the Happiness Machine, an interdisciplinary production of
Austrian Music Ensemble Klangforum Wien. She is currently producing experimental shorts Nude Triumphant by Leo Crane and Dawta by Jessica Ashman, both with Arts Council England support. Abigail is the Animation Production Liaison Executive at ScreenSkills and Short Animation Programmer at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. https://animateprojects.org/
