Print Out is an annual, student-led event, coinciding with the summer degree show. This year’s edition, entitled FILE AWAY, is a panel discussion focussed on the subject of the Archive. Within the expanded field of Print, the archive serves as a tool for preserving or presenting as part of a socially engaging or political work. While the archive tells about the history of things, its discovery and exploration is as much about looking forward as it is about looking back. FILE AWAY invites artists Helen Cammock, Holly Graham and General Public to discuss systems of working with archives in each of their practices. Discussion will question the politics of the archive and how artists can enable or encourage public access to local archives.
