Design Through Making

Anna Heck

Anna Heck is a Stockholm-based industrial designer and design researcher, former Ikea Foundation scholar, currently working in consumer electronics, furniture, and lighting design.

Trained as Industrial and Product Designer in Switzerland (ECAL, 2015) and the United Kingdom (Royal College of Art, 2020), Anna’s work combines influences from both technology and culture with a commitment to details and quality. In her design process, she likes to condense the conceptual essence of her research and observations into materialized, future product concepts, innovative case studies, and unconventional product solutions. Her former experience in branding and industrial design allows her to bridge rich and emotional narratives with rigorous technical and aesthetic awareness to imagine new products for the human experience.

The Rapid Chair is an affordable and intelligent seating solution designed to meet the needs of contemporary spaces and optimised distribution models while offering qualitative and considerate design. Designed to be economical, flat-packed, and mass-produced, Rapid Chair is a high quality, versatile, and sustainable solution that provides a level of comfort and stability often compromised in folding chairs. By supporting both comfort and user control, whether, in formal or informal contexts, the chair can help transform working and living spaces that need flexibility.
