Ian Malhotra

About

Born in Birmingham, I graduated with a Fine Art BA from Manchester School of Art in 2014 and now live and work in London. I have exhibited across the UK, including at Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces, PS Mirabel, ODOX, Soho Revue, South London Gallery and Southwark Park Galleries.

Statement

My work explores recurring themes of reproduction, translation and the language of visual information in the digital age. I work across drawing, printmaking, animation, sound and installation.

You can see some of the work featured on this page and an interactive installation in the physical group show Final, Not Over along with the work of other great artists graduaing from the RCA from the 16th -20th July at Unit 1 Gallery in London. The 13th Studio

Developed during lockdown, this project is a series of arduous labyrinths drawn from each studio space I have used to think about and make work. The 13th and final studio I have used is in the RCA MA Print workshops, and so has been inaccessible more than three months. I invite you to download, print out and navigate through this unlucky space for yourself. In doing so, perhaps this time will allow you to navigate your thoughts in a new way while your hand wanders, as this space has allowed mine to.

You can follow the link to my website to download an easily printable A4 PDF version of this labyrinth here:
