My work starts with the intention of telling a story. I took two sets of photos wandering in the woods as the beginning of this story. They show the image of a heroine disappearing from an imagined reality. From this I asked myself: where is the heroine going to? What is the world behind the woods? Is it there that the story begins?

In a lot of films and novels, there is a common way to describe a woman switching between two worlds, which is to say that she’s “falling into” either. I think the natural world brings more unknown possibilities to my work. The story I want to tell is about a woman constantly switching between two worlds by means of her daydreaming. She keeps falling into the unknown lush woods and the super lovely personal space where she started the narrative dressing relationship with another character of hers.

I’ve used Devore velvet and floral mohair crochet. The style I want to create is gentle, dreamlike and a little spooky. The woman I want to dress is curious, with a youthful spirit. “Almost a lady”, but independent, with a mysterious, questioning attitude.
