Shupin Zhao is a fashion designer from Shanghai, China. As a womenswear designer, a feminine figure with soft power is her design signature. She wants to show through her garments the emotions of the young women who’ll wear them, to reflect the authenticity and complexity of their true selves.

Trace the Emotion can be seen as an exploration of her self-cognition. Considering how the contradictory and complementary cultures of the East and the West shape who she is, she tries to balance her deeply rooted Eastern culture with the Western education she has received, introversion and extroversion. This project is an experimental and conceptual journey of refinement and sublimation of her own design aesthetics and thinking.
