The artistic creation is a way for me to explore this world and record my self-growth. It changes simultaneously as I change, whether in tone or aesthetics. Art witnesses my changes.

I believed that there were many secrets hidden in our brain. Memories of what happened were like sowed seeds, constantly growing and affecting our understanding of the world. Similarly, the memory of a country or a nation is its history. However, more and more information made me doubt the authenticity of history and I was beginning to wonder if the memories of my generation were real or fake. Had it been tampered with or partly removed? If we were rooted in the soil of artificiality, were we born unreal?

Then I started to observe the details of daily life and use different materials to preserve the impressing moments that impressed me, since from my perspective those moments were real. I believed in the existence of truth, hoping my art practice can not only explore myself but also question the future of human society. Making art helps me discover my own aesthetic taste and enrich my cognition of this complex universe, even though it is full of risks and uncertainties all the way through.

The work consists of printmaking, installation and video showing in an immersive space. The artist recorded his 12-day trip in Nordic through this special diary. In the work, the audience will meet both the visual and acoustic memories as well as internal and external landscapes.

The train is heading for the destination,
Immersing in the snowstorm,
Carrying me to the unknown without hesitation.

You will be more afraid than happy,
When the light from the other side appears.
The unreadiness for a surprise,
And the fear of gain for fear of loss,
Are blocking my desire
Like the endless snow in front of my eyes.

The vast Baltic Sea,
Is covered with black frosted folds in the moonlight.
The black is warmer,
And deeper than the sky,
So the skyline is still exposed.

Through the plane window I see the island of Finland on the map.
It seems huge and solid when I am flying over,
Thanks to the veil of mystery given by the night.
The surface is grotesque and craggy,
Like a giant magnet.

Now the sky in the distance is turning into navy, And the skyline is clearer,
As 15 minutes passed.
The cool sky and the warm sea,
The white moon and the dark earth,
In Scandinavia,
No matter how many thousands feet I am off the ground,
Are instilling strength in me.

Silence.

Rovaniemi Hostel
The work Rovaniemi Hostel consists of a piece of recorded audio, a set of photos and an object. Based on the soundtrack of footsteps, it causes an acoustic memory to bring the author's thoughts back to the night of walking alone in an unfamiliar city Rovaniemi in North Finland. While stepping on the snow that has not completely melted, the author put himself in the unknown and silence, talking with the strange world, talking with himself and going on an uncertain adventure.

What happens in the memory is like a sowed seed that affects our understanding of the world. Similarly, the memory of a country or nation is its history, but how do we know the memory our generation received is true or not, has it been tampered with or removed? If we are rooted in the soil of false, are we also false?
