Statement

I create an imaginary world, an escape for the industrialised structure and political instability of my home city. The continuous hunt for this world acts as the core of my making. Through exploring visual fragments, the ability to bond a new land is offered, leading to a spiritual home.

I begin my search in fictioning. A handmade artbook of imaginary travels is made as my bible. This book and my drawing form a feedback loop that develops the world. Alienness is constructed from the unconventional rules in making. The cast plaster and drawn images are interwoven into a curious complex that echos with the premise of an unknown and undiscovered world.

Interrelationships are developed between: fiction and reality, alien and familiar, shape and figure, transitional mark and fixed surface.
