The Language of Melting -- Fragments of Time in Self-Isolation 2020

The Language of Melting -- Fragments of Time in Self-Isolation 2020 is a series of corona-alike paintings made by melting ice during the time in self-isolation. The materials used daily drinks such as tea, coffee, and red wine, individually or mix-up and frozen to small ice cubes, slowly melt and seep into a highly absorbent paper. The whole process of this project is a three-month-long performance piece, contains my daily activities, in responding to the sudden change of time and life during the lockdown, to remind the uncertainty of the current pandemic.

With a coded interactive online program, which allows you to interact sonically with the cursor on each image. Get a closer look at the outline edge, access to the gradation immediately, to feel the speed and rate, uniformity and variation; and experience the duration, explore the time aspect of each painting, and be more aware of the notion of change.
