Manye Xu
In RCA2020, Manye has set her sight on the values and views about life of the two generations, discussing the cultural and belief differences between young people and the older generation, and also the exchange of new and old values in society. ‘She’ grows ardently is a project that draws precious life experience and value from the spirits of the older generation, allowing young people to settle down in an impetuous society to think about a longer-term future and have a more lasting vision. And Selffish is a spiritual symbol represents the ideology of young people who escape from the older generation’s backward values, and strives to break this social rule and recreate their own social rules that are more in line with modern needs.

'She' grows ardently community, 2020.
We all have our own dreams and beliefs, and sometimes the process of pursuing dream is very hard, but I believe all the lives that are growing towards dreams are also ardent and beautiful, and when each of us comes together, a single spark can light a prairie fire. This online community is designed for people with dreams and beliefs to share their stories in order to encourage each other.
Selffish, 2020.
So I create an alter-ego of mine whose name is Selffish and a typography names selffish font. Its shape is like the Chinese mythical animals Kungpeng. It is a unique creature with fins as wide as wings. It separates from the shoal and becomes self-contained. It has a very strong independent will like a stone and four moods including calm(安详相), angry(怒相), sad(哀悯相), and joy(笑相). It is not only a visual creature but also a cultural symbol that represents young people's resistance to unreasonable old values and encourages them to follow their individual wills.
