Setting the Table — unfolded publication

Setting the Table — packed + folded publication

Setting the Table — pip with twiglets, deck of cards + tablecloth

Setting the Table — neve with twiglets, deck of cards + tablecloth

Setting the Table is an experimental publication that when opened becomes a setting for a curated meal. It consists of a tablecloth that acts as a map in which items are to be placed upon + a deck of cards that provides recipes and facts which discuss the benefits of plant-based ingredients.

Participating in Setting the Table is easy, it exists within the home and begins by inviting guests to dinner. As the host, it is your role to prepare the food located on the tablecloth by following the recipe cards found within the accompanying card deck. Just like having people round for tea, seat your guests around the tablecloth, and place the dishes onto it. Finally, deal the cards between your guests, eat the food + learn about the nutritional value a plant-based diet has to offer.

Setting the Table will be published by three * grace * press in Autumn, 2020.

Content-Full is an autonomous printed publication ensuing from Content-Free, Visual Communication’s digital “portal into a world of thinking and making”. Content-Full aims to situate itself outside of the institution, extending the experimental exhibition and testing space to the print realm in the hopes of creating a printed matter that engages with RCA alumni and tutors, stretching outward to resulting networks.

As a result, Content-Full functions as an archive of currency, revealing the topics, thoughts, subjects, works-in-progress, and positions of contributors, while simultaneously creating a library collection that can be referenced by all.

In an evermore digital landscape, and in light of the effects of COVID-19 on the cultural and educational sectors, we hope this printed matter will preserve the urgency of locality, the importance of shared knowledge and practice, and highlight the voices that are contributing to the presence of the RCA, London, and beyond.

Issue #1 was released Spring 2020 at the RCA. Issue #2 will be released September 2020 through Content-Full’s forthcoming platform, and through Sold Out Publishing.
