I try to use different symbols and images as metaphors to express what I see and think in my life. These symbols are related to our subconscious mind, as if they guide us to make choices in the dark. If we could not find the right image, it would be absent from our own compendium of references; when we did, it may bring a sense of joyous recognition—like a door opening to some hidden delight. For me, symbols add more possibilities and creativity to life and art. When we decide to do something, symbols help us realize that there may be another kind of thinking and meaning hidden beneath the surface of others and ourselves.

I use paper as the material, telling the stories by disassembling and reassembling the symbols. At the same time, symbols are endowed with human nature for me. Here, symbols have the same ability as human to absorb and release energy. Like human beings, different symbols have different characteristics and expressions, at the same time, when they gather together, they form a unified life body and are given new value and meaning. I hope the symbolism in my work exposes a coexistence of subject and object. In a sense, I believe symbols are the reflection of the human mind. Because of the limitations of the ego, it is impossible to see the whole heart of the ego. However, we can learn more about ourselves by observing symbols and graphs, and create our own world by using them.

Vow of silence is a project that I am trying to communicate with my work on paper. Every little piece of paper is a single cell. They gather together and rearrange to produce a new organ.I enjoy the process of tearing and pasting paper. I collected all the scraps of paper. There is no doubt that they are an important part of my work. I work intuitively, without fixed goals as I use different paper and glue to change the texture of the paper materials, whilst adding more layers to the work.

A seed in the heart can take root, germinate and grow up until it finally engulfs itself completely. I made this book to help myself accept the truth that people are easily lost and it is not something to be frightened or anxious about. I chose paper, glue, acrylic colour and gloss medium to make a texture that is different from the texture of paper, but more like the surface of skin
