Life in the future

As a curator, I see my role is to act as an industrial designer who focuses on healthcare and medical design projects for this event. For RCA2020's online exhibition, I explore some outstanding projects that deal with how emerging technologies are enabled to support our health and quality of life. Under the collection theme; my selection brings students from diverse backgrounds within the School of Design together to display their creative problem-solving in one place.

Technology can lead our life in much better ways, however, without understanding the qualities of human needs, the project hardly achieves the goal. Selected projects demonstrate the vision of how engineering and technology can be adapted to our lives, through rigorous design research and solution. To apply emerging technologies, especially in the medical industry takes a solid amount of iteration before it reaches a mature level; I believe these design approaches help audiences understand how designers can bring innovation into the world we live in.
