Browsing the virtual exhibition, I went on instinct and I was drawn to works with a sense of optimism and connection. I chose pieces that stirred my imagination and evoked strong feelings. I can’t resist inspiration from the natural world and there were some striking works that reflected on the human connection to nature and how we will navigate this as we move into the future.

Emma J Shipley is a British designer creating accessories and homeware for nature lovers, dreamers and maximalists. The designs are all hand-drawn in pencil; inspired by myths, legends and the unique beauty of the natural world.
The famous boutique Browns launched Emma’s collection of printed scarves in 2012 after the designer graduated from the Royal College of Art. The brand is now stocked in some of the best department stores and boutiques around the world, including Liberty and Harrods in London. Emma also collaborates with high-profile brands and has worked with Disney on a Star Wars collection, Aspinal of London on a collection of printed leather bags and Atelier Swarovski on a jewellery line.
